Wah Gwaan Jamaican Kitchen & Bar is committed to reducing the environmental impact of restaurant operations while serving authentic Jamaican cuisine. To achieve Green Business certification, the restaurant implemented energy and water efficient upgrades, expanded recycling and waste diversion practices, and adopted environmentally preferable purchasing policies. The restaurant transitioned to compostable and recyclable food service products where feasible, increased the use of reusable dine-in serviceware, and incorporated sustainable purchasing practices to reduce single-use waste. Wah Gwaan also conserves water and energy through efficient kitchen equipment and daily operational practices while providing ongoing employee education to support continuous environmental improvement and reduce its overall environmental footprint.
