Local First Arizona believes that locally owned business are leading the charge in environmental sustainability across the state. We want to shine the spotlight on these businesses that are doing great things for their communities by paying attention to environmental best practices. By becoming certified, these businesses will stand out from the crowd and benefit from marketing through the AZGBP & LFA networks while setting a great example for fellow business owners.

CALIFORNIA

The California Green Business Program leads the state and nation in working with small to medium sized businesses to grow a vibrant and healthy green economy. Led by a coalition of cities and counties, we contribute to more livable communities with healthier environments, while also conserving resources and saving money.

The program is funded by grass-roots contributions from local government and utility partners to make it accessible to small to medium sized businesses in California.

COLORADO

The Colorado Green Business Network is a coalition of city, county, and state technical assistance and environmental recognition programs that work with Colorado businesses to help them become more environmentally sustainable. Network content is designed by local programs to reflect local goals. Businesses that participate work directly with the local programs that serve them.

ILLINOIS

The Illinois Green Business Association (IGBA) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that helps businesses integrate green practices through education and engagement, causing a business to find profitability in sustainability.

Our vision is that a sustainable business culture is the standard practice of economic activity. Companies, communities, and consumers will thrive through healthy, mutually beneficial relationships that are diverse, resilient and balanced.

NEVADA

Western Nevada College (WNC) and greenUP!, a Nevada based 501(c)(3) nonprofit are partnering to launch a statewide green business program and to create a database capability for collecting outcomes that measure environmental performance for the state. The Nevada Green Business Program, launched in 2019, works with small to medium businesses to help them establish environmentally sustainable practices. Companies, communities and consumers will benefit from a cleaner, more environmentally friendly state.

EnviroStars is a free, one-stop hub for Washington businesses to get information, help, and recognition for actions that protect their workplace, the community, and the planet. Led by a large coalition of cities, counties and utilities, EnviroStars links businesses to local environmental programs and incentives that can help them take green actions and get recognized for it.
